Introduction: 1.Prepare the Ingredients

115g/4oz butter, softened, plus extra for greasing
115g/4oz cast sugar
1 egg
100g/3 1/2 oz porridge oats
1 tbsp milk
1 tsp vanilla extract
125g/4 1/2oz plain flour
1tbsp cocoa powder
1/2tsp baking powder
350g/12oz milk chocolate.

Step 1: 2.Preheat the Oven

Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/GasMark4.

Step 2: 3.Grease Baking Trays

Grease 2 large baking trays, or cover with either parchment paper or grease proof paper.

Step 3: 4.Place the Butter and Sugar in a Large Mixing Bowl

Place the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl and beat together until light and fluffy.

Step 4: 5.Add the Egg, Oats, Milk and Vanilla Extract

Add the egg, then the oats, milk, and vanilla extract and beat together until well blended.

Step 5: 6.Add Flour, Cocoa Powder, Baking Powder and Chocolate

Sift in the flour and add the cocoa powder and baking powder and stir, then add and stir in the chocolate.

Step 6: 7.Place Dessertspoon Size Mixture on the Baking Tray

Place dessertspoon size mixture on the baking tray, and flatten with a fork. 

Step 7: 8.Place in the Oven

Place in the oven and bake for about 15 mins.

Step 8: 9.Take Out Oven

Take out of oven and leave to cool and enjoy.
