Introduction: 3-2-1 Snack Cake

About: ...after 30 years of becoming corporately numb, my dreams of not working (for pay) and instead creating with my hands has become a reality. Life is grand!
Because I always eat enough to carry me to my next meal, I generally don't have the need to snack between meals.  Instead, my snacking issues occur late at night when I want something that is sweet, but I lack the desire to prepare anything that takes effort.

In other words when my night time cravings hit, I want a snack that is...
  1. Easy
  2. Quick
  3. Satisfying
...and the 3-2-1 Snack Cake rings all three bells!

Step 1: Make It EASY!

The hardest(?) part of this snack is combining two ingrediants into a one gallon ziplock bag, or:
  • one box of Angel Food Cake mix (must be Angel Food since we are not adding any eggs or oil)
  • one box of any Flavor Cake Mix  (I used Devil's Food so I could get better photos)
Simply combine the two cake mixes in the ziplock bag and store in the pantry until the craving hits.

Step 2: Make It QUICK!!

When the craving occurs, mix the following in 3-2-1 order...

3 Tablespoons of the Combined Cake Mix
added with...
 2 Tablespoons of Water
in a microwave safe bowl, then...
1 minute on High (in the microwave)

That's it, and it probably takes longer to stir out the lumps than to wait 1 minute for the microwave to bake the treat!

Step 3: Make It SATISFYING!!!

Give the cake a few seconds to cool and at less than 100* calories each, consider treating yourself to more than just one.

Even better...forget about calories and top it with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, sprinkles or any other yummy favorite.
*With approximately 1 Tablespoon of flour/sugar equivalent to 8 grams, a 16 oz (453 gm) box of Angel Food Cake mix and an 18.25 oz (517 gm) box of Devil's Food Cake mix, will make approximately 40 snack cakes at 94 calories per serving (without added toppings),
