Introduction: 3 Course Meal Using Mostly Power Tools
This instructable shows how to use power tools to make a three course meal that consists of an appetizer of cowboy caviar salsa, steak and potatoes, and a desert of delicious brownies.
WARNING: PLEASE USE CAUTION AND APPROPRIATE SAFETY EQUIPMENT WHEN OPERATING POWER TOOLS
Metal Egg Beater Bit
Large Mixing Bowl
Plastic Frozen Cookie Dough Tin or Other Plastic Tin
4 medium Tomatoes
1 Large Sweet Onion
1/2 Bunch of Cilantro
1 Bag of Frozen Corn
Optional Brownie Toppings:
Step 1: Making Your Food Processor
For your food processor, you will need a rotary tool, a plastic tub, and a metal pin.
First, take the metal pin and separate the two halves using a small screw driver and going around the edge. Next, draw up a very simple template on the computer using a few cut up circles in order to make a sickle shaped metal blade for the food processor like those found on commercial products. Put the template onto the metal button half without the pin running through it. Now, drill a small hole in the button the same size as the rotary tool grinding piece holder. Now that the whole is drilled, use some metal snips to cut out the button along the template lines. Lastly, drill a hole through the lid of the plastic tub the same size as the rotary tool end threads (see picture if you are confused) and a second hole for feeding in a small distance away so that when you feed in material, the blades hit it.
Step 2: Course 1 Appetizers: Cowboy Caviar
For the appetizer, I made cowboy caviar. Cowboy caviar is a sweet and tasty salsa dip. I made this using my rotary tool food processor to cut up some of the cilantro and onions. Be sure to feed in your ingredients into the food processor slowly so that it can adequately cut them.
Here is how to make the cowboy caviar:
4 medium tomatoes
1 large sweet onion
1/2 bunch of cilantro
1 bag of frozen corn
Dice up tomatoes and cut up cilantro (used food processor for these) and add to large mixing bowl. Open up the can of black beans and the frozen corn and add to bowl as well. Mix the ingredients together and add Italian dressing to taste.
This is a delicious and simple recipe that goes very well at parties!
Step 3: Course 2 Entree: Steak and Potatoes
First off, I would like to apologize for the lack of photos on this step as my camera was not working.
First, buy your favorite steak and season it how you would like. Next, scrub some potatoes, poke a few holes in the top with a fork to prevent explosion and put them in the oven to bake. Grill the steak to preference. Once the steak has been grilled, cut it off of the bone and cut it up into nice sized pieces using the jigsaw. Remove the potatoes from the oven when they're done baking (about an hour). Plate the potatoes along with the cut up steak. Put some cheese and butter on each potato and then melt them using a heat gun. Serve hot!
Step 4: Course 3 Desert: Brownies
The desert is some delicious Ghirardelli brownies (these are my favorite brand).
Add ingredients per the recipe for your brownies, and mix together using an egg beater hooked into a drill. Once stirred thoroughly, place into an appropriate sized pan (should be oiled to prevent sticking) and put into oven at the recommended heat and time on the box. Once done, remove and allow them to sit in order to harden up so that they don't fall apart when removing them from the pan. Can be served with toppings as desired. Recommended Toppings: Powdered sugar, Chocolate Syrup, and Ice Cream.
Doesn't that just look delicious!
Step 5: Bonus: Doing the Dishes
Everyone hates doing the dishes and loves power tools, so I deserve a nobel prize for this one (just joking).
DO NOT DO THIS WITH FANCY PLATES/CHINA
Take a heavy duty pressure washer like those used to clean houses, cars, driveways, etc. Now just squirt the heck out of those dishes. This will get stuck on food off even better than scrubbing bubbles or any other dish agent.
Thanks for viewing my instructable. I hope you are able to get something positive out of it!
