Introduction: 3 Layer Smoothie

About: Concocted Creations From The Mind Of A Maker.

Today I'll be showing you how to put a twist on the average smoothie by making 3 full layers of smoothie goodness, Let's begin!

Step 1: The Ingredients

The 3 layers of smoothie flavors I picked were wild berry, pineapple and strawberry, so that's the flavors I'll be showing you how to make today, but you could choose any flavors you'd like!

For the wild berry layer you'll need :

1/2 cup of wild blueberries
1/2 cup of blueberry yogurt
1/2 a banana
1/2 cup of ice

For the Pineapple layer you'll need :

1/2 cup of pineapple
1/2 cup of vanilla yogurt
1/2 cup of ice
1/2 a banana (Optional)

For the Strawberry layer you'll need :

4 large strawberries
1 tsp of sugar
1/2 cup of whole milk
1/2 cup of ice cubes

Step 2: Wild Berry Layer

Blend the banana, ice and yogurt together until the mixture is well blended, then Add the berries and blend on low speed for 30 seconds. ( Adding the blueberries at the end leaves the berry flavor at the top)

Then pour the first layer in the cup about a quarter of the way full, and stick it in the refrigerator

Rinse blender and prepare for next smoothie.

Step 3: Pineapple Layer

Blend the banana, yogurt and ice together until the mixture smooth, then add the pineapple and blend on high for another 30 seconds or until smooth.

Step 4: Strawberry Layer

Blend the strawberries with milk on low speed till smooth, then add ice cubes and blend on high, lastly add the sugar and blend on high speed for about 1 minute.

Once again pour in a separate cup and set aside.

Step 5: Prepare for Layering

To layer the smoothie you'll need a spoon and the technique for layering.

You can use a bar spoon if you have one but a regular spoon will work too, it's what I used and it worked fine, all I had to do is bend the end so it could fit all the way in the glass!

Step 6: Layering

Start by putting the spoon inside the glass against the edge bottom side up, then get as close as possible to the first layer of smoothie without touching it,now slowly pour the second layer over the base of the spoon and let the smoothie run down and settle, then switch to the other side of the glass and repeat. after that move on to the final layer of smoothie!

If you look up drink layering there are some great videos that show you this same technique!

Step 7: Finished!

Now just top off the smoothie with your favorite bendy straw and Vuala, your finished smoothie!

if you have any questions please feel free to comment!

Hope you enjoy!
