Introduction: 3 Homemade GoPro Mounts - Wrist Strap, Extension Pole and Dog Toy
This is a step by step instructable to create your own wrist mount for use with the standard or the underwater GoPro housings. Also at the end I will include 2 additional mounts.
Step 1:
Items needed:
Ankle Strap or some sort of strap. This was purchased at Sports Authority for $11
Curved GoPro mount
5 inch zip ties (2)
1/8 inch drill bit
Drill
Knife
Step 2:
Drill a hole in each of the 4 corners on an angle as shown.
Step 3:
Carefully remove some of the adhesive backing using a knife.
Step 4:
Thread the zip tie through the holes as shown. It must go under the mount as shown to allow installation and removal of the clip. Do not connect the tie until you thread it through the strap as shown in the next step.
Step 5:
Attach ties and connect on bottom as shown. Clip excess.
Step 6:
Finished strap.
Step 7:
Wear and enjoy!
Step 8:
Dog stick mount. Drill a few holes with a countersink so the screws sit flush with the mount. Give it to Rover and get some great footage!
Step 9:
Expandable paint stick pole. Drill 13/16 inch hole in end of pole and thread in 1/4 - 20 bolt. Cut off head of bolt with hacksaw and now you have a long pole for any camera.

Thanks for the instructable! With the new GoPro HERO 3 silver edition the GoPro comes mounted on a plastic board, but rather than throw it away I have repurposed it. I've cut it down to size, and drilled a couple of holes as you did here, then stuck a couple of hose clamps through to attach it to stuff. The benefit of using a hose-clamp instead of a zip-tie is that it's reusable, and tightenable too! Good instructable, thanks for the inspiration!

That is a great idea! I am going to try that as well!
