Introduction: 3D Glue Quotes on Canvas

About: My sister and I like to make things! And even more than making things, we like to share our creations! We want to create beautiful and compelling content that really helps people to get what they need!

Here we are going to be making a nice quote canvas. It is an easy and short project that looks great when your finished. Who knows you might be the next Leonardo Davinci. So lets get started!

  • 1 canvas of your size
  • 1 bottle of fabric glue (which you can get at any store. Also a 4 ounce bottle will last a long time)
  • Wax Paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Paint brush

Step 1: Choosing Quote and Making 3D Letters

The first thing you want to do is choose the quote so you know how big the canvas is supposed to be.

After doing that, you want to print the quote out. It doesn't matter the orientation of the letters, you just need to decide on a size.

Then place the wax paper on top of the quote and tape it to the page so it doesn't slide around. Now trace the letters with the fabric glue on the wax paper. The thicker you do them the easier it will be to peel them off at the end.

Place them off to the side so that they will dry, depending on the thickness of the letters it will take around 1-2 hours. You can test them by trying to peel them off and if they don't come off easy enough then they are still drying.

Step 2: Painting the Canvas

This is a fairly easy part. The most challenging part is trying to figure out the color you want to paint the canvas. Or the design you want to draw on the background. After you decide, go ahead and paint/decorate your canvas, then set it aside to dry thoroughly.

Step 3: Attaching Letters on Canvas

After making sure both the canvas and letters are dry you want to start peeling off the letters, and placing them on the canvas.Arrange them on the painted canvas so they look beautiful. Using a paintbrush, start coating the letters with Mod Podge. Continue to Mod Podge the rest of the canvas to give your beautiful artwork a nice sheen. You will need to hold the letters in place as you apply the Mod Podge so they don't move around.

Once its dried, you can hang it up proudly for all the world to see!
