Introduction: 3D Halloween Cauldron
Here's another paper crafting tutorial by Paper Chaser TO.
Last minute Halloween party? Use this 3D cauldron as decorations, table setting/centrepieces, or even as favours. The cauldron is easy to assemble and can hold a substantial amount of candy and other treats. You can opt to keep the handles out by cutting all 4 A pieces without holes.
Step 1: Materials Needed
- 3D Cauldron Template
- Glue
- Scissors
- Score Tool
Step 2: Video Tutorial
The written tutorial can be found below.
Step 3: Getting Everything Ready
Print and cut your template onto cardstock of whatever colour you wish (I've chosen to use white because it's easy to see on camera).
Once you have the template cut out, whether scored and cut by hand or machine, you should have something that looks like this.
Step 4: Gathering All 12 Pieces
There are 12 pieces to the sides of the cauldron make sure they are all creased/scored and ready to be glued. Also, make sure the bottom piece is creased and scored as well. (In this written tutorial I will not be adding the handle).
Step 5: Assembling the Cauldron
Once you have everything set up and creased, take one piece from Type A and two Type B pieces.
Glue the body of Type B to Type A from top to bottom in this order.
Make sure you hold the tabs in place until the glue dry’s a bit to make it more secure.
Then glue the other Type B piece on the other Type B top to bottom in this order as well. Once you glued the three pieces together, it should look like this.
One Type A and two Type B pieces.
Do the same glueing process three more times with the remaining pieces. You should end up with four pieces all together.
Step 6: Putting It Together
Now that you have all four pieces assembled take the bottom piece, and make sure that its 8 tabs have been creased and scored.
Once you are ready to glue, take one of your cauldron side pieces and add glue to the bottom tab of Type A
Choose any corner of the two tabs to add glue to the bottom piece.
You will then proceed to glue bottom tab of Type A to the two corner tabs of the bottom piece.
You will have three more pieces to glue on.
Continue to glue the next side of the cauldron to the existing one with the bottom piece.
Make sure you glue the next side of the cauldron top to bottom and then attach the bottom piece to it as well.
Do it until you complete the cauldron.
Glue the handles to the cauldron along opposite Piece A sections.
