Call this an equivalent to a gift bag, but this clearly a piece of personalized artwork complete with name and matching photo! Now that is trendy!

Step 1: Get Your Materials

Here's what you need to make this piece:

a small canvas
scrapbook paper
Mod Podge
wooden letters
paint brush
scissors
pencil (not shown)

Step 2: Prep Canvas

First, use a pencil to trace out the size of your canvas to a piece of scrapbook paper, cut out the shape and attach to the front with Mod Podge.

Step 3: Paint Letters

Next, grab some wooden letters that spell out your friend's name and paint them in different colors.

Step 4: Add Letters

Then, using your glue gun, attach the letters to the canvas. Make sure that you remember the placement of the letters before gluing them down.

Step 5: Prep Images

Now, you're ready to prep an image of your favorite person to place on your canvas. Scan the image you want to use right to your computer, then use a photo-editing software (I used Photoshop) so that when you cut and paste it on your canvas, it will fit within it. My canvas is an 8 x 10 inch canvas, so I would have to print this image to an 8 x 7 inch scale. Then, after printing out the image, I cut it to fit, then used Mod Podge to attach to the front.

Step 6: Add Ribbon

Once the canvas is set, you can add a piece of ribbon to the back of the canvas for hanging.

Step 7: Done!

Now, this personalized work of art is ready to be given to that special someone! If you want, you can also embellish your canvas with flowers, gems, stickers, whatever will make this look even more rewarding! Either way, it's still the most "trendiest" gift idea around!
