Introduction: 3D Printed Garden Labeling Signs

My mom would always forget which plants are which inside of her garden so I decided to create this to help her. These are custom garden labels to label the plants in your garden. You use the sharp point to stab into the soil so the label sticks out.

Supplies

For this project you just need a 3D printer, filament, and the software to print.

Step 1:

I used tinker cad to design my labels. (tinker cad link)

In tinker cad you can customizes the names on the labels for your garden.

When inserting text onto your labels click the option to make then a "hole" so you will clearly be able to read them.

You can adjust the size to your liking, I made mine 2 1/8 x 4 3/4.

Step 2:

Next you are going to move your tinkercad creation into the software you use for printing, I used prusaSlicer 2.5.0.

transferring into PrusaSlicer from tinkercad:

  • Export the file from tinkercad as an STL by clicking the "export" button on the top right.
  • In PrusaSlicer click "file" on the top left.
  • Then press "Import" and click "Import STL (imperial units)"
  • Then select your file that you saved and import it

Step 3:

Lastly print your creation and use!
