this is my first instructables hope you guys like it.

Please give some feedback on how you thought i presented. It's been real fun working on this project and hope to see your twist on this design

Step 1: Bill of Material "BITS AND BOBS"

3D Printer
Sharp snap knife
Loctite superglue
Clear silicone
Silicone gun
100m Glow in the dark filament

IF YOU GO TO YOUR LOCAL £ SHOP YOU SHOULD FIND ITS A LOT CHEAPER

you may find that most of the materials you will need you already have. Apart from the glow filament i already had most of the items !! so it cost me £10.90

Step 2: 3D Printing & STL Files

I used CURA during the slicing process i find it better than other slicing software (personal preference)

PRINTER SETTINGS

0.2 mm layer height
100% fill density
60 (mm/s) print speed
220(c) hot end temperature
40(c) bed temperature

So you need to print this out 11 times this will give you your 55 segments !!!

TOP TIP

(ONCE PRINTED LEAVE BED TO COOL DOWN BEFORE PEELING AWAY) ANTI-WARPING)

Step 3: Cleaning, Gluing & Jigging !!!

OK if your one with your 3D printer you may find the next step will be easier for you than it was for me.

Since the cold weathers has come in, me and my printer haven't been seen eye to eye !!!!

With your knife clean all edges make sure there is no blobs on the corners
Apply superglue along one of the long edges ( NOT THE BOTTOM EDGE )
grab one more segment and place in the Jig holding the glued side to the new segment (HOLD UNTIL DRY)
Keep adding segments to the Jig until the shape is made

Rinse and repeat until you have 11 sections like you seen in the pic

Step 4: Setting Up & More GLUING !!!

SO place 5 of your newly made segments together and apply glue wait for 10 minutes then apply more !!!
Repeat again so you have 2 large halves
interlock the 2 large halves together and apply more glue
leave to dry for 15 minutes

Step 5: Last Segment & Sealing Up

Add you last segment to the top of the star then glue in place (wait for 5 minutes)
your star might have gaps where the segments have joined so apply a thin amount of clear silicone. i would advise you ask for help to hold the star as its very light in weight. depending on you brand of silicone leave to dry for a minimum of 10 hrs

Step 6: PRINTING FIXTURES. Adding Fixture !!

Print the blocks these will hold the light fixture in place

LAST STEP !!

Loose fit block onto light fixture as seen in pic
Apply glue to blocks, sick them to the top as shown in the pic
once dry the light fixture should pivot back and forth this will allow easy access to the bulb.
