Introduction: 3D Printed Pokemon`s

Thanks for checking out my first ever instructable, created for the 3D Printing Contest. I'm going to show you the process used to create a low poly-count 3D printed pokemon`s that you can download and 3D-print !

For me, one of the coolest things about 3D printing is the feasibility of becoming a creator instead of just a consumer. With a product that's generated from a computer, customizing, tweaking, and tinkering with the parent file can create so many cool results, please vote for it for the 3D Printing contest! :) click here to go to the contest page What This Instructable Covers: links to download the stl file for the print pictured.

Step 1: Materials

  1. 3D printer with filament ( in my case i have used ABS filament)

  2. A 3D model to print

  3. Spray paints ( depending on which colours u want your pokemon to be )

  4. paint brush, and oil paints ( to provide the pokemon model features such as eyes, mouth, etc...... )

  5. sandpaper ( to smooth the layer of the 3d printed model )

Step 2: 3D PRINT SQUIRTLE

Go to the link below on Thingiverse to download STL file for Squirtle

Or else download the files i have put into this very step ( both the files on the site and in the description are same)

Step 3: 3D PRINT BULBASAUR

Go to the link below on Thingiverse to download STL file for Bulbasaur

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:319413/#files Or else download the files i have put into this very step ( both the files on the site and in the description are same)

Step 4: 3D PRINT CHIKORITA

Go to the link below on Thingiverse to download STL file for Chikorita

http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:319413/#files Or else download the files i have put into this very step ( both the files on the site and in the description are same)

For Chikorita u will have to 3d print its body and the leaf on top of its head separately and then use acetone to stick both ( body and the leaf of Chikorita ) to together

Note : Dont use too much of acetone since acetone melts the polymer and would give undesirable patches and might ruin your 3d printed model for perfection use a cotton swab to spread little of amount of acetone.

Step 5: SAND THE 3D MODEL

With the use of a sandpaper, sand your 3d printed model to get a smooth texture of your 3d model, by doing so when u spray paint or else paint with oil paints the paint would spread evenly and model will look good too.

Step 6: SPRAY PAINT N PAINT YOUR POKEMON`S

Use your desired spray paint colours on paint your pokemon`s model , then use oil paints to draw other features onto the pokemon like eyes, mouths or else other features that might be present on pokemon or else u might want to add.

Here are few 3d printed pokemon`s model that i have printed, and painted. Hope u like the instructable, do vote for my instructable at 3d printing contest.
