Introduction: 3D Star Wall Art
Bring the stars from the sky and right onto your canvas with this simple and sparkly wall art.
Step 1: Materials List
To make this star-studded wall art, you will need...
- a 12 x 12 inch canvas
- a package of foam stars (I bought these from Michael's for about $0.29)
- a foam brush
- black acrylic paint
- white glue
- scissors (not shown)
- Optional: glitter (not shown)
Step 2: Paint Canvas
First, paint the canvas with black paint (make sure to include the outer sides as well).
Step 3: Add Glitter
As an optional bonus, you can also add some silver glitter to the canvas while the paint is still wet for extra sparkle! The paint will be tacky by the time you add the glitter, so it will adhere to it.
Step 4: Add Stars
Now, start to add some stars to the canvas by gluing them onto several areas. You can even let them hang out from the edges of the canvas, because you're going to cut some of the excess off to give it a nice cropped out effect. Be sure to use different textured stars to give it some fun 3 dimensional effect throughout!
Step 5: Cut Off Excess
Finally, grab your scissors, and cut off any excess that might be hanging out from the edges of your canvas.
Step 6: Display
Now, you can display it on your shelf, wall or wherever you want to have that "star light, star bright" feeling; how you'll wonder what they are!
