Introduction: 5 Platonic Solids Popsicle Sticks Models DIY
Have you ever seen 3D models of the Five Platonic Solids made out of Popsicle Sticks? I have seen one but icosahedron popsicle sticks. This is great for math corners or math centers, classroom decorations or home decors. If you are teaching math, I highly recommend this as one of your math projects.

The Five Platonic Solids are:
- Tetrahedron. It has four triangular faces.
- Octahedron. It has eight triangular faces.
- Cube. It has four square faces.
- Icosahedron. It has twelve pentagon faces.
- Dodecahedron. It has 20 triangular faces.
Materials:
Popsicle Sticks
glue
tape
Step 1: Tetrahedron Popsicle Sticks
The tetrahedron has four triangular faces.
Procedure: (Refer to the videos attached).
- Glue three sticks to form an equilateral triangle.
- Make four triangles.
- Connect the triangles using tape to form a tetrahedron.
- Glue the four corners of the tetrahedron.
Step 2: Cube Popsicle Sticks
The cube has four square faces.
Procedure: (Refer to the videos attached).
- Glue four sticks to form a square.
- Make four squares.
- Connect the squares using tape to form cube.
- Glue the eight corners of the cube.
Step 3: Octahedron Popsicle Sticks
The Octahedron has eight triangular faces.
Procedure: (Refer to the videos attached).
- Glue three sticks to form an equilateral triangle.
- Make eight triangles.
- Connect the triangles using tape to form the octahedron
- Glue the six corners of the octahedron.
Step 4: Icosahedron Popsicle Sticks
The Icosahedron has 20 triangular faces.
Procedure: (Refer to the videos attached).
- Glue three sticks to form an equilateral triangle.
- Make 20 triangles.
- Connect the triangles using tape to form an Icosahedron.
- Glue the 12 corners of the Icosahedron.
Step 5: Dodecahedron Popsicle Sticks
The Dodecahedron has 12 pentagon faces.
Procedure: (Refer to the videos attached).
- Glue sticks sticks to form a regular pentagon.
- Make 12 pentagons.
- Connect the pentagons using tape to form a dodecahedron.
- Glue the 20 corners of the dodecahedron.
