Introduction: 70 Years Old German BLUETOOTH Speaker

About: This channel is used by my brother and me. We like building and learning new things and want to share it with you! I am the creative part, developing new ideas and doing the research as well as gardening and m…

We like old stuff.

It is not only because of the impressive quality, it is also because of the feelings, the memories connected with them and the thoughts coming with it. Ok yes, we are a bit nostalgic, but who cares? ;)

In our times, we also produce much too much waste, so we try to break down the most of the things before we throw them away. Planned obsolescence is definitely one of the negative side effects of the age of consumption. Often, you can use a lot of these parts again, for projects you don`t know yet.

We found this ancient speaker (maybe around the time of WW2!!) behind old stored firewood. It was really dirty and as we opened it, the cables looked shockingly bad. We didn`t even know what some parts are used for but the speaker itself was in a pretty good shape. So we decided to give it a new purpose and added Bluetooth. Now, we are able to control it with our smartphone. Don`t be afraid. It is very easy and you can do it very quickly on your own with any kind of speaker.

Step 1: Materials

Old or newer Speaker

Bluetooth amplifier http://goo.gl/HlCGY1 buy it now. it might take a bit from china but it works great with all kind of speakers!

Black tea

Step 2: Cleaning

Clean your old speaker as good as you can.

You want that it looks good, so give your best.

Step 3: Use Black Tea to Enhance the Wood Color

If the speaker is a wooden one and looks really bleached out then follow this instructions.

Brew some very strong black tea and rub with the mix over the furniture. Wait until it is dry. Now the colour should pop out again.

Step 4: Add Bluetooth

I know that it is possible to build an own circuit, but in our opinion it is not always necessary to reinvent the wheel. So, we bought this cheap Bluetooth amplifier from China and connected it to our cables. That isn`t really a challenge.

Connect it with your power supply and look
whether it works.

Enjoy and think about what your ancients might have heard on this speaker.

Interesting idea. Could also be used to pipe in sound to old radios.
