A rear view camera is one of the best auto safety devices you can install in your car. You can get third-party backup cameras on the cheap that are also easy to install – a definite win for every automobile owner.

Step 5: Freeze Proofing

Those living in regions with winter seasons will definitely need to make sure their reversing cameras are freeze proofed. Without this protection, the sensitive electrical components of the average camera will break down a lot faster when exposed to bitter, freezing temperatures. If it’s totally unprotected, then even the physical components may be weak enough to be destroyed when winter comes rolling around.

Audio/Video Input – and last but definitely not the least is the ability to handle both audio and video capabilities. This is another feature that is especially useful for long, loud vehicles that require close coordination with someone else. Some even come with an intercom system that let you communicate in real-time – a very useful feature in a rear view camera when coordinating with a team offloading cargo from a truck.
