A 3D Printed Pedestrian Bridge
Intro: A 3D Printed Pedestrian Bridge
This is my entry for the Make it bridge Student Design Challenge. my name is Hope i am a 16 year old Grade 12 student who basically live in lagos, Nigeria.
The 3d bridge design of mine got it inspiration from nature that under the kingdom Animalia and kingdom plantae .That is : coconut petiole and bee comb respectively.
Importance: the 3d pedestrian Bridges can help in rural area to facilitate easy movement from one comminty or place to another and another benefit of a pedestrian bridge is to make" crossings safer for pedestrians and other road users."
STEP 1: Inspirations(biomimicry)
One thing i love about bee comb is that it hexagonal structure is durable although it was made from wax. also the arc structure of the coconut petioles is also a structure that super strong and durable. so with this i was able to combine the two nature structure and come up with a good idea.
STEP 2: Combine Your Inspiration and Make a Roughand Sketch Out the Design
After making the rough sketch ,you then get your Autodesk software ready.
STEP 3: Get Started
STEP 4:
STEP 5:
STEP 6:
STEP 7: Include the Bee Comb
The pedestrian bridge is done.
STEP 8: Infill
The infill will also be a structure of the hexagonal bee comb structure because the structure is capable of fitting into more space and it is a good one.
