Introduction: A DIY Xbox 360 Trashtalk
Always wanted one of those controller addons which give you the ability to send sound bites through xbox live? And then dont want to fork out the money? Well in this insuructable i will show you how to make you own with a cheap MP3 Player
Step 1: Get Your Parts
You will need:
An xbox 360 controller (with or without chatpad)
A Cheap MP3 player
A 3.5mm to 3.5mm audio cable
A 3.5mm to 2-2.5mm Connector
Some Blu-tack or Tape
Step 2: Attach the MP3 Player to the Controller
Using the blu-tack or the tape which ever, Stick the MP3 player onto the bottom of the controller, I find that the battery pack is best as you can still reach the controls and use the controller accordingly.
Step 3: Plug It In
Simple step. Plug in all the cables, one end into the headphone jack of the Mp3 player, the other into the adaptor, The adaptor into the controller and your away. Also then tidy up the cabling so it looks neat
Step 4: Load Up Some Sounds
I found that music comes out very distorted and not easy to hear. Voice and snippets are perfect. I got hold of some Team Fortress 2 Taunts, Duke Nukem and Pacman sounds. Load them onto the MP3 player, Connect it up, hit play, turn the volume down to around 7ish or it will be too loud
Step 5: The End
So inconclusion you have made a cheap and easy to use Trashtalk of your own. I find the only downside to this method is that you are not able to talk at the same time. Unless you can split the cable and wire in a microphone. I may try it.
Overall the controller is easy to hold, The Mp3 player doesnt obstuct any movement. Its all good

I think you might have a short somewhere in the 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable.

The xbox 360 controller wasn't made to stream mp3s to other xbox 360s. it was made to stream voice. so of course the quality will suck. I used to do this on the original xbox.
