ABOK 782 - Two Strand Diamond Knot

This is another attractive 2 strand knot suitable for use as lanyard, zipper pull or key ring fob. ABOK shows steps 1 - 3 but it is easily expanded

Step 1:

Make a bight and tie an overhand knot

Step 2:

Bring the left hand end to the right on top of the knot. Then bring the right hand to the left under the knot

Step 3:

Bring the left hand end on top and through the right hand bight.

Bring the right hand end under and up through the left hand bight.

Tighten

to lengthen (expand) this knot go to step 4.

Step 4:

For the first expansion go through steps 1 - 3

Step 5:

Bring the left hand end to the right on top of the knot. Then bring the right hand to the left under the knot

Step 6:

Bring the left hand end on top and through the right hand bight.

Bring the right hand end under and up through the left hand bight.

Tighten.

If you wish to lengthen further go to step 7.

Step 7:

To make the next expansion proceed as shown to step 6 (before tightening)

Bring the left hand end to the right on top of the knot. Then bring the right hand to the left under the knot.

Step 8:

Bring the left hand end on top and through the right hand bight.

Bring the right hand end under and up through the left hand bight.

Tighten.
