Introduction: AEROPLANE SOLIDWORKS PROJECT (UMPSA)

Hello everyone,we are diploma students form Faculty of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering Technology at Univesity Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA). Today we will give you guys a tutorial on how to make a aeroplane using solidworks. This is our group project assignment which is from course DRM1113 Engineering Drawing & CAD . My group consists of three people, the members are:

1)AHMAD ASYRAF DAENIAL BIN ZAIRUL (RM23243)

2)ABDUL AZIM BIN ZULKAFILI (RM23169)

3)MUHAMMAD HAZIQ DANIAL BIN HASNAN RM23236)

The first thing in our head when our lecturer giving this task is what we should build. Finally we decided to build an aeroplane. Welcome to the dynamic world of aerospace design, where creativity meets precision in crafting the marvels that take to the skies. In this SolidWorks project, we embark on an exciting adventure to conceive, model, and refine an extraordinary airplane. Our mission is to harness the power of SolidWorks, a cutting-edge 3D modeling software, to design an aircraft that seamlessly blends form and function, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Aerospace engineering demands a delicate balance between aesthetics and engineering ingenuity. Through this SolidWorks project, we aim to showcase our skills in conceptualizing and shaping an airplane that not only captivates the eye but also excels in aerodynamics and structural integrity. SolidWorks will be our compass, guiding us through the intricacies of 3D modeling, simulation, and analysis to bring our aviation dreams to life.

Supplies

As we embark on this journey, our focus extends beyond the mere physical appearance of the aircraft. We will delve into the complexities of engineering, considering factors such as weight distribution, material strength, and aerodynamic efficiency. SolidWorks will empower us to visualize and refine every aspect of our design, ensuring a harmonious fusion of artistry and engineering excellence.

Join us in this exploration of innovation, where SolidWorks becomes our virtual workshop and the airplane our canvas. Together, let's push the boundaries of aerospace design, creating a model that not only reflects the spirit of flight but also embodies the precision and sophistication synonymous with modern aviation. Fasten your seatbelts; our SolidWorks journey to redefine airborne excellence is about to take off!

Step 1: Sketch and Design the Aeroplane Body

Sketch and Design the Aeroplane Body:

-Start by creating a new SolidWorks part file.

-Sketch the outline of the aeroplane body using the appropriate tools and dimensions.

-Extrude the sketch to create a solid body.

-Add fillets and chamfers to smooth out the edges.

Step 2: Design the Wings

Design the Wings:

-Sketch the shape of the wings

-Make sure that the wings shape are perfectly

-You just need to draw one side of the wings only

-You need to mirror the wings to the other side

Step 3: Design the Turbine Engine

Design the Turbine Engine:

-Sketch the jet engine

-You just need to draw one side of the turbine engine

-You need to mirror the turbine engine to the other side

Step 4: Design the Tailplane

Design the Tailplane:

-Sketch the tailplane

-You just need to draw one side of the tailplane only

-You need to mirror the tailplane to the other side

Step 5: Design the Fin and the Back Turbine Engine

Design the Fin and the Back Turbine Engine:

-Sketch the fin

-Sketch the back turbine engine

-Use fillet to make sure that the design smooth

Step 6: Design the Cabin Window

Design the Cabin Window:

-Just sketch one of the cabin window

-You must use the the linear sketch pattern to plus the quantity of the cabin window

-Just mirror the cabin window to the other side

-Finally make sure that the object in isometric sketch

Step 7: Conclusion

In conclusion, our SolidWorks aeroplane project has been a journey of innovation, collaboration, and hands-on learning. As we reflect on the entire process, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to our dedicated lecturer, Dr. Daing Mohamad Nafiz Bin Daing Idris. His guidance, expertise, and unwavering support were instrumental in steering us through the intricacies of drone design and SolidWorks modeling.

We are also profoundly grateful to our friends and fellow group members who contributed their unique skills and perspectives to make this project a success. The collaborative spirit within our team fostered an environment where ideas flourished, challenges were overcome, and each member played a crucial role in the project's development.

The SolidWorks aeroplane project not only enriched our technical knowledge but also emphasized the importance of teamwork and effective communication in engineering endeavors. As we celebrate the completion of this project, we look forward to applying the skills and insights gained to future endeavors in the realm of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Our sincerest thanks to Dr. Daing Mohamad Nafiz Bin Daing Idris and our friends for their invaluable contributions to the success of this project. This experience has been a testament to the power of collaboration and mentorship, shaping us into more adept and confident engineers as we move forward in our academic and professional journeys.
