Introduction: AIRBRUSH STENCILS MADE EASY WITH a SOLDERING IRON
I SAW HOW EXPENSIVE IT IS TO BUY STENCILS AND MADE AN INSTRUCTABLE TO SHOW
HOW I MAKE THEM. THIS IS NOT A NEW TECHNIQUE BUT IS EFFECTIVE.
THE GOOD THING IS THAT YOU WILL BE THE ONE DECIDING WHAT TO MAKE, NOT HAVING TO BUY A PRE-MADE ONE. (I DO BUY THEM AS WELL), YOU CAN ALSO PUT THEM IN A NOTEBOOK, THE DIVIDERS HAVE HOLES ALREADY.
I HAVE PHOTOSHOP, AND CAN MAKE A PHOTOCOPY OR GRAYSCALE OF A PICTURE AND THEN CONCENTRATE ON THE IMPORTANT DARK AREAS AND IGNORE THE REST. YOU NEED TO PUT BRIDGES BETWEEN CUTOUT AREAS SO THE STENCIL WONT FALL APART. I SOMETIMES USE TO MUCH DETAIL, THAT CAN BE A BAD THING. CONCENTRATE ON THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS IN DESIGN.
PUT THE DRAWING UNDER THE STENCIL(DIVIDER) AND DRAW PATTERN TO STENCIL THEN REMOVE PAPER DRAWING. TAPE STENCIL TO GLASS AND USE IRON TO FINISH CUTTING OUT PIECES, THE COME OUT EASY. YOU CAN EVEN "WELD MISTAKES " BACK TOGETHER IF YOUR CUT IS NOT TO LONG, USING SCRAP PLASTIC.

Step 1:
Step 2: TRACING THE PATTERN
TRACE THE PATTERN ONTO THE DIVIDER SHEET.... THEN ATTACH TO GLASS, AND CUT
Step 3: CUTTING OUT DESIGN WITH IRON
GO AT A MEDIUM SPEED, YOU WANT TO GO ALL THE WAY THRU THE MATERIAL. IF YOU HAVE THE IRON IN A SPOT TO LONG IT WILL BURN A BIGGER HOLE THAN YOU WANT.
