STEP 1: Watch the Quick Video Tutorial Here

STEP 2: You'll Need

Americana Gloss Enamels

White porcelain dishes (got mine at the dollar store)

Paintbrushes

Rubbing Alcohol

STEP 3:

Clean your dishes with rubbing alcohol

Add large strokes of color to you're pieces, one color at a time

If you're drinking from the mugs, paint 1" below the rim

*Painted porcelain plates should be used as chargers with clear glass plates

OR

Paint on the underside of glass plates for food safe dishes

STEP 4:

Let the paint dry slightly in between colors

Add small dots to create splatters and drips

Bake at 325˚ twice for 30 minutes letting the oven cool in between backing times

This looks great, and I'm definitely going to do some of these. But one question: rubbing alcohol contains lanolin, so wouldn't denatured alcohol, which is nothing but alcohol, be better?

Hm.....That is a great question. The instructions say rubbing alcohol so maybe the lanolin mixes with the paint? Not really sure about that. Let me check on it.

This is great. I've been trying to think of a way to make some customized plates with my own art work on them. I think this will work.

It's a great way to show off your art!
