At the time i was not able to buy some pre-amplified guitar ready to connect at your guitar amplifier... I was wondering at school if i could amplify my guitar hence i already know some theories and applications about electronics (the transistor stuff, the Op-amps. ) you know that electronic theories. So i build one using very cheap and very known electronic components right to build this project and to build by anyone who is willing to or passionate about modifying and creating sounds to give it to the next level.

Step 1: Components to Be Used.

I wanted to be the project cheap as possible. Buying to electronics store is the best way but for the sake of simplicity i remove other components from the old electronics boards Like capacitors, wires and switches. But i only just remove a capacitor (necessary to the project.). It is a good way to salvage electronic parts on old PCB's.. it is kinda sort of a life-hack to electronics to provide you some components that the stores don't have.

1. Perforated Board (BreadBoard Schematic connection style or just individual holes).
2. Small Case (Either Metal or Plastic. I chose metal case because the only thing i have. but i prefer Plastic).
3. Toggle Switch ( I don't have foot switch)
4. Rheostat or Variable resistor ( 10kohm and 20kohm).
5. 220uf 10V to 16V and 470 uf 10V to 16V capacitors.
6. 2x10uf 10V to 16V capacitors.
7. LM386N-1 Op Amp.
8. 8-pin DIP socket.
9. 3x headphone or earphone male jacks.
10. Some telephone wires or wires.
11.Old cardboard or Box. (For insulation.)
12. 10 ohm fixed axial type resistor.
13. Piezo-Electric Disc.
14. 3x headphone or earphone female jacks.

I used my homemade Macrolens using the tablet to picture the components that i used. awesome. :D

Step 2: Drilling Holes to the Metal Case.

I drilled 3 holes at the metal cover and i drilled holes in the case 2 on the top and 1 on the bottom or vise-versa (whatever you want.) As you can see i already placed inside the cardboard for insulation of the electronics to the case.

Step 3: Schematic Diagram

This is the Original circuit i referenced for. The only thing i modify is i add another 10 uf in parallel to another 10uf capacitor and in series with a toggle switch connected all parallel to pins 1 and 8 of the Op-Amp.

So that, i got the clean mode and Distorted mode of the amp.

Step 4: Soldering and Placing Inside the Case

You notice that i have two potentiometers. The first potentiometer used for volume in input and the 2nd pot. is reserved for other upgrades.

Step 5: Finished Amp!!

The build is pretty straight forward but it give us a good output in the end. We will post sooner or later the sound test of the amp. I will say to you the sound is good really really good. :) Just connect your Piezo disk right on your guitar and your ready to go!

I used double-sided tape to attach it.
