Introduction: UGent Lamp
This Instructables shows u how to make and assemble a plexiglass lamp which is inspired by our school logo (University of Ghent). It uses plexiglass spirals made by a machine, which can be found here.
You can find the pdf file below to lasercut the necessary parts to assemble this lamp. While you're at it, you'll need to lasercut the parts to twist too, which can be found in the 5th step.
Step 1: Gathering the Parts
Materials needed:
- 2 plexi sheets A2 format (594 x 420 mm), 3 mm
- A piece of 30 cm LED strip
- pieces of wire
- A small round power socket
- Multi position switch
- Some chloroform used to glue the pieces
- Masking tape
Tools needed:
- Lasercutter Basic
- A needle and syringe
- Plexitwister machine
Step 2: Lasercutting
Using a lasercutter you can cut the necessary parts. You can find the laserplans below.

Making the spirals is done by using the machine and the plexiglass plates that are cut by a lasercutter. you need to make 6 spirals The instructables for making te machine can be found here.
