Introduction: Airplane Launcher

I have made this simple but effective airplane launcher which uses two motors to accelerate the paper airplane to great speeds and has nice range. I designed it using Fusion 360 for the Make it Fly Challenge. I currently study in The Shishukunj International School.

Supplies

1.Cardboard

2.Glue / Glue gun

3.Motor x 2

4.Jumper Wires 4-6

5.Power Bank and Arduino

6.Breadboard (Not Necessary)

7.Wheel x 2

Step 1: Assembling and Cutting Holes

Take two 7x11 cm cardboard pieces and paste them with glue.

Cut two holes for the motors. My motors had a diameter of 2cm.

Note: the holes should be made only after seeing the diameter of the wheels. There should be a space of 2-4mm between the wheels.

Step 2: Attaching Motors

Take the two motors and fix them in the holes which were made earlier.

Step 3: Attaching Wheels

The wheels can be attached to the motors with hot glue.

Step 4: Completing the Electronic Connection

Connect the positive wire of the 1st motor and the negative wire of the 2nd motor to the positive rail and the negative wire of the 1st motor and the positive wire of the 2nd motor to the negative rail.

Note: The motors should rotate in opposite directions.

Step 5: Attaching Guide Rails

You can add to small guiding rails to help in launching

The Launcher is now ready to use ,you can make small paper plane using 1/4th of an A4 size sheet. I recorded an average distance of 20 feet.
