Introduction: Airsoft Target for High FPS
How to make a target that will catch your BBs even at moderately high velocities. Please comment to tell me up to what FPS it will stop, I dont have enough guns to completely figure that out. I felt the urge to label everything in this instructable :). Most tape in this in this instructable can be replaced with nails if you want it to be. WARNING- I am not responsible if you are injured when using this. WARNING-THIS IS NOT A LIFESAVING DEVICE"
Step 1: Materials
You will need-
1. Safety Glasses
2. A USPS tray or another corrugated plastic box
3. A cardboard box that is a little bit smaller or bigger than your corrugated plastic box
4. Tape or some nails and a hammer
5. Targets
6. Optional- more cardboard
Step 2: Insert the Box Into the Tray
Take the box and insert it top down into the tray as shown, leaving one flap outside the box.
Step 3: Securing the Box and Tray
Tape down the flap, then tape around the rest of the box and seal it as shown.
Step 4: Add the Targets
Tape or nail on some cheap targets.
Step 5: Open Fire
Aim and shoot, or in my case, shoot while trying to use a camera and almost break a pane of glass.
Step 6: Recover BBs
After you have fired a satisfying amount of ammunition into the target, untape the flap, turn the target upside-down, then tilt it so the majority of the BBs come rolling down the flap where you can catch them and reuse them!

I would totally make this except my pellets fly about 1200 fps and it blows up pieces of wood and so
You get the idea

You can stuff in many more layers of cardboard for .177 or .22 pellet rifles

I shot it with a bb gun (.177) at 690 fps and it went through everything, bounced off of the wall and re entered the box.

Aisoft target for high FPS, not BB gun target.

oops, I use it for my airsoft gun, but I figured I will test it with my bb gun.

nice ible but its not a good idea to reuse Bbs b/c it can ruin your gun by chipping and clogging your gun. Peace out fellow airsofters

Well.... Dont re-use them in like a High Grade AEG, GBB, or a Sniper Rifle, but u could probably use them for spring pistols, shotguns, and the like
Reply 11 years ago on Introduction
mines a springer, but a can't reuse bbs

yah since i use high grads all the time that's what i thought you ment sorry ; P

If you have any grenades you can reuse them in that.

But then again, if your gun has high enough FPS that you need a pellet trap,
then you probably can't reuse your BBs...
