How to do a pieces of chess of wood

Step 1:

You need a block of wood of  1 1/2" x 1/2" 13", then you have to mark an "x"

Step 2:

then you have to put it in the lather and then with the guges you have to do it like a cilindrical, then you have to mark the measure of the pieces of chess you want to do, then you have to gave the shape and finally you have to cut the pieces....

This would be a fun project if I had a lathe. I would love to make some custom pieces with a little character ;)
