Hey my name is Isaiah and i'm in high school and i like making stuff. So i have seen Altoids grill and instead of buying one i wanted to make my own even tho it's not the same i wanted to try me own idea. This is my first Instructables so if you see something wrong or you think i should change something let me know and i will consider it. This is ideal for fishing then cut it up and put it on your grill so i am going to put some fishing wire, a leer, and hooks to try it out some day. I have tried grilling on the grill and it works i will upload a video but maybe some time later.

Step 1: What You Need

Regular sized Altoids mint chest
Some type of small fencing. I used Hardware cloth because i like the square rubric. Get this at a hardware store
4 Bolts and 8 nuts( 1/4 x 2 for the Bolts) ( 1/4 for the nuts) But its your choice but i thought these look better
Tools such as- Wire cutters(small), A drill( i used a drill press), and a Ruler or a measuring tool in Inches

Step 2: Cutting the Fencing

Now the fencing usually comes in a big bundle but all you need is a small square.

The fence was cut at 2in length and 3.25 or 3 1/4in width.

There is a small box cut out in the bottom right hand corner for fuel purpose. ( if your left change it)

The corner is .75 or 3/4 of an inch on both sides.

Now put this part aside

Step 3: Drilling the Holes

Now take a drill and put a hole in each corner on the bottom of the Altoids chest.

The holes should be either the same size or bigger not to much bigger.

Mines was the same size so all i have to do is screw it in. If it is bigger than that's were the nuts come in handy.

Put the nuts on both sides of the bolt, the side inside the can and out.

This is for the legs of the grill

Step 4: Grill Rack Part 1

Now you need to put 4 small holes the size of strand of the fence, if one column were by it's self to fit trough.

I don't know if that makes sense but if the wire weren't together and just separate wire.

The first hole is on the top right hand corner were there is still wire. Then the left side needs the on the top and bottom corner. The last on is on the width side on the bottom on the edge of the cut out corner.

If you haven't figured it out by the picture these holes need to be up high to the top edges

Step 5: Grill Rack Part 2

These pieces of wire will go through the holes you just made.

You bend the wires in a U shape the stick one side through the holes then take the rack you made in step one and hook the side you of the U strands that is inside through the rack on each side then pinch them together.

I know this is not a good idea there are better ones but it's mines and i like it.
