Introduction: Aluminum Can Alcohol Stove

This is a project that uses isopropyl alcohol to power a stove. The more powerful the alcohol then the better the stove will burn, this includes 70, 91, and 99 percent. This is a fun project and we got our stove to burn for around 15 minutes.

Supplies

The supplies needed for this project include 2 aluminum cans, sand paper, a thumbtack, a drill for convenience, a razor blade, a cotton ball, and the isopropyl alcohol, and a match.

Step 1: What to Do With Cans

For this step you want to use the sand paper and sand off about 1 inch of the paint on the bottom of the 2 cans. Then you want to use the razor blade to cut both of the cans in half. Sanding the paint of the cans allows for the clans to slide together easier and also allows the heat to travel better.

Step 2: After Fixing Your Cans

With the bottom of your two cans, you can bend one of the cans slightly inwards for it to easily slide into the other can once this has been done it should look like the can in the picture which is nice and flush.

Step 3: After Combining the Cans

Take the drill to drill a hole in the center of the top of the can, it seems that the bigger the whole is, the easier it is to pour the alcohol in and work with.

Step 4: After Putting the Center Hole

Use the hammer and thumbtack to put small holes all along the ring of the outside top of the can, this will allow for the flame to get larger, quicker.

Step 5: Watch It Burn

Once you have done all of these steps, all you need to do is pour in the alcohol, make a candle wick with your cotton ball and then light it up using your match. Then grab some marshmallows for a nice treat :)
