Introduction: Amber Glow
This easily made tonic is a favorite of mine. Amber glow works great as a digestive aid and a great pick me up. If used on a daily basis, this home remedy improves digestion and counters fatigue/increases energy. I recommend one to two 8 ounces glasses a day.
Step 1: Ingredients
1.Honey
2. Apple Cider Vinegar
3.Water
4.Ground Cinnamon
5. Ground Ginger
Step 2: Combining the Ingredients
Start with adding a few ounces of water to a glass, there is no need to be precise. Then add a small amount of apple cider vinegar (1-2 tablespoons) into the water. Afterwards, add the desired amount of honey (I usually put around 2 tablespoons). The acidity from the apple cider vinegar will help dissolve the honey into the mixture. Then add 1/8 teaspoon of ground cinnamon and 1/8 ground ginger. Stir vigorously until the honey is completely dissolved and the spices are mixed in. Finish by adding around 5 more ounces of water.
Step 3: Enjoy

Another thing I meant to mention is that ACV is acidic and can harm the enamel on your teeth so if you drink this regularly, use a straw. Also in winter use warm (not hot water for a more warming drink).

I use a 500ml bottle of ACV, when it is half empty I fill it up with honey poured straight from the jar very carefully (you can use a funnel if you don't have a steady hand). I then shake it up to mix and then use it like squash. I don't refrigerate it and it keeps for several weeks (Depending on the quality of the ingredients you may get a residue at the bottom of the bottle if it is undisturbed for some time). The spices can be added or not as required and taste can be easily adjusted.

Great recipe! You might want to make sure to use raw honey as cooked honey has no, to very little, health benefits. :)

Decades and decades ago, I read a book that impressed itself on my memory, called Vermont Country Medicine. It was mainly about the benefits of apple cider vinegar and honey. I don't remember the proportions or anything, so it was interesting to see this instbl., esp. with the addition of ginger and cinnamon. I have often seen ginger in some form (usually the root itself, often used in Japanese and Chinese cooking) recommended for the digestion, and someone once wrote in to a certain cancer forum I am on, saying that 1/2 tsp per day of cinnamon helped bring down his blood pressure, so this all sounds good.
Going to try it. Thanks!

I hope it brings you good health.

Ground Ginger or cinnamon doesn't have hardly any therapeuticproperties. I have a very similar drink using real ginger root boiled in water. A 1 Cardamon seed is very optional extra. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the suggestion, I've wanted to try this variation as well.... When I was at my local health store, I noticed they have ginger juice and was thinking that could work as well.

Ginger does help relieve nausea!

What is the shelf life? I tend to make things in batches

I would think that maybe the only issue would be prolonged potency, but all of those ingredients will last forever apart, so combined, I don't see any reason why it would spoil.

to be honest I'm not sure, maybe we can get a second opinion. My feeling is it will keep for a while in the refrigerator.

what could you substitute for the ginger? wonder if this would work with tea instead of water....

Hey, nice! My parents actually drink a concoction like this everyday. They're both in their 80s so perhaps there's somethig to it!

My great grandparents never drank anything like this and they lived until their late 90s, so perhaps there is something to not drinking it too. ;)

This is great but it should also be noted that only raw apple cider vinegar (with the "mother" will give you the most vinegar benefit such as the Braggs you pictured.
