Introduction: Among Us Plaster Plant Pot

These are instructions for how to make a plaster among us plant pot.

Supplies

  1. A sheet of polypropylene
  2. a box cutter and/or scissors
  3. A sheet of A4 paper
  4. Pencil and/or pen
  5. Hot glue gun
  6. Ruler
  7. Protractor
  8. Plaster ingreidents
  9. Bucket
  10. Spatula
  11. Tipco Juice box

Step 1: Cutting Out the Base Template

Draw a rectangle on your A4 piece of paper, it should be 8.3cm wide and 5cm tall. Draw two lines of symmetry, one should be vertical and the other horizontal as indicated in the picture. Place a protractor so that the middle mark is on the left edge of the paper and the bottom marking is on the horizontal line of symmetry, measure out 25 degrees and draw a line from the beginning horizontal to the top of the paper as indicated in the image. Fold the paper following the vertical line of symmetry and do the same with the horizontal line. Cut along the 25 degree line and unfold the paper.

Step 2: Cutting Out the Base on the Polypropylene

Cut out the shape of the piece of paper on the polypropylene you can do this by either tracing the piece of paper on the polypropylene with a marker and then cutting along the marker or by sticking the cut out paper directly onto the polypropylene and then following the outline. (for this step you can use either scissors or a box cutter)

Step 3: Cutting Out the Sides of the Mold

  1. Place the lone edge your base under the polypropylene sheet
  2. Get a ruler and draw a line parallel to the side of the polypropylene sheet from the base's top right point the line should be 12 cm tall.
  3. Rotate the base counter clockwise so a different edge is parallel to the bottom of the polypropylene sheet.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 until every edge of the base has been used to draw a line.

The final product should look similar to the final image

Step 4: Backpack Cut Out

  1. On one of the bigger rectangles section that make up the side of the mold
  2. Choose a side that you want to be the top of the mold and draw a line 2.5cm downwards
  3. 2.5cm away from the top of the side of the mold draw A 5cm by 4cm rectangle as indicated in the image (make sure the rectangle is centered within the section)
  4. After the rectangle is drawn out cut it out with the box cutter (keep this cut out for a later step)

Step 5: Mask Cut Out

  1. On the other bigger rectangle section draw a line 4cm downwards from the top of the mold
  2. 4cm away from the top of the side of the mold draw a 2.5cm by 4cm rectangle as indicated in the image (make sure the rectangle is centered within the section)
  3. After the rectangle is drawn out cut it out with the box cutter (keep this cut out for a later step)

Step 6: Scoring the Edges

Use a box cutter and a ruler to score the lines drawn previously to divide the sections of the side of the mold.

DO NOT cut out each section, just score it so that each section is not a separate piece, but can be folded.

Step 7: Making the Mask and Backpack

  1. Cut out two rectangles that are 5cm by 1.5 cm, and two that are 4cm by 1.5 cm
  2. Get the rectangle we cut out to make the backpack hole and stick the rectangles we just cut to the corresponding edges, tape everything upright as indicated in the image
  3. Cut out two rectangles that are 2.5 cm by 1.5 cm, and two that are 4cm by 1.5 cm
  4. Get the rectangle we cut out to make the mask hole and stick the rectangles we just cut to the corresponding edges, tape everything upright as indicated in the image

Step 8: Assembling the Mold

  1. Hot glue the mask box and the backpack box pack onto the side of the mold as indicated in the image
  2. Hot glue the sides of the mold together, it should make a hexagon shape from a birds eye view
  3. Hot glue the base onto the corresponding edges as indicated in the image
  4. Make sure to seal all holes. To test this fill the mold with water, if the mold leaks water find where its leaking drain the water and then seal that spot with hot glue
  5. Repeat step 4 until there are no leaks

Step 9: Making the Core

  1. Get a Tipco juice box remove the straw and plastic and empty the juice from it
  2. Use a box cutter or your hands to remove the glue residue
  3. Tape the bottom of the juice box as to make the bottom smooth
  4. Do the same for the vertical seam thats usually on the back of the juice box

Step 10: Pouring the Mold

  1. Mix the plaster, put 2 cups of water into a bucket and 3 cups of plaster powder
  2. Use the spatula to mix together until homogenous
  3. Pour the plaster mix into the mold, once it's halfway add the core, the core should hover roughly 2-3cm from the bottom, if there is still space for more paster pour it to where theres 1-2cm of space from the top of the mold
  4. Either hold the tipco box in place or tape it down
  5. Wait roughly 30-40 minutes for the paster to harden, then use a boxcutter to open up the mold. Be careful as to not break the solidified plaster

Step 11: Final Touches

  1. Sand down all sharp edges and imperfections with a relatively rough sandpaper until they're curved
  2. After the initial sanding do a secondary sanding with a smoother sandpaper
  3. Drill a hole on the bottom of the plant pot
  4. (optional) paint the pot your desired colors
