Introduction: Annoying Beep Maker

About: i enjoy inventing, taking apart electronics, and rebuilding them. i also have a hobby of creating batch files, i greatly enjoy programming batch. i also enjoy coding and decoding binary code.
In this instructable i will show you how to make a pocket sized device that beeps rapidly, mde out of a smoke detector.

Step 1: Step 1: What You Need

You will need:
A smoke detector
A battery holder
A 9 volt battery and adaptor
Wire
A switch
Tools:
Soldering iron and solder
Wire cutters/ strippers
Metal shears
Hot glue gun and glue

Step 2: Step 2: Start

Start by taking apart the somke detector and removing the circuit.

Step 3: Step 3: Cut

Now cut away all of the area and the aluminum casing in the plastic, keep the wires and the IC.

Step 4: Step 4: Solder

Now solder a wire to the tall wire, solder one switch lead to that, and solder a wire from the IC to the other switch post. Don't ask me how i figured this out, i just stumbled upon it. Now desolder the 9 volt clips, remember wich is wich. Solder the corresponding wires from the 9 volt adaptor.

Hint: ( The connectors will be opposite of the 9 volt polarity )

Step 5: Step 5: Prepare the Container

Now place the circuit in the box, cut a hole where the "speaker" will be. Also cut a hole for the switch.

Step 6: Step 6: Glue

Now glue the switch in place, then plug in the 9 vot battery.

Step 7: Video

Congrats! Your done! Here is a video of the Beeper in action, the sound is a bit distorted, its a lot higher and louder.
