Introduction: Apple Sauce and Oat Bread

Apple Sauce and Oat Bread
1 cup oat flour
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp salt
2 tsps. baking powder
1tsp. vanilla extract
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar or coconut sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
¾ cup apple sauce
1/4 cup milk (2 tbsps. more maybe needed)
Recipe Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease loaf pan and set aside; in a medium bowl mix dry ingredients until combined. In a large bowl add egg, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, and applesauce. Mix until all the ingredients form a smooth batter. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix until combined. Slowly stir milk into batter until smooth. Pour batter into loaf pan and sprinkle a bit of sugar on top of bread. Place in the oven for 1 hour or until a tooth pick inserted in the middle of loaf comes out clean.

I used brown sugar but you can sub with coconut

Ah, okay. It's just that the recipe only indicated brown sugar for sprinkling on top, not the amount to go into the batter. "...In a large bowl add egg, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, and apple sauce". Unless you meant to add the 1 cup sugar to the batter and then sprinkle a bit more on top?

Thanks for pointing that out! I actually did make two
variations of this bread. One with coconut sugar and one with brown sugar (I
used 1 cup for both); to be honest I enjoyed the one with coconut sugar because
it was not that sweet and I love the caramel notes. The one with brown sugar
was too sweet for my tooth, but people seemed to enjoy it because it was so
sweet. If your sweet tooth is anything like mine, I think you would love the
coconut sugar and just sprinkle a bit of white sugar or brown sugar on top. :)
