Introduction: Apps Academy Proposal
I would like to help the Madison (WI) Children's Museum start an Apps Academy, to teach 9-13 year-olds how to program and to build apps for their phones and tablets. The key is a programming language called LiveCode, the descendent of Apple's HyperCard language from the early '90s. After recently running a pilot week-long LiveCode Summer Camp for kids and parents, I am convinced that kids can quickly and easily learn to build their own apps using LiveCode, and I would like to expand that experiment to a long-term Apps Academy program at the Children's Museum.
