Introduction: Articulating LED Lamp
The things needed to build this lamp:

I always wanted to have this kind of lamp and the price was prohibitive.
So I decided to make it and it was super easy to make.
This wonderful lamp is a design by:
Mario Grandi - Artisan Lamp
Watch the video to see the details of the build and subscribe to my YT channel for more:
Step 1: Material
You need 1'' thick board of any kind of wood (preferable hardwood).
I made mine from black walnut.
Electrical cord, Edison LED bulb, Bulb Socket...and - here I made a list:

You'll notice in the video that I didn't have a nice socket so I painted mine gold.
Also I braided the cord with a drill.
Step 2: Cut the Wood Strips
Cut the wood strips to 12mm (1/2'') wide.
Use a push stick on the table saw.
On the miter saw cut the sticks to desired length.
Step 3: Drill the Holes
Drill the holes where the hardware will pass.
Round over some edges allowing for the full movement at the bottom piece.
Step 4: Cut the Filler Pieces
The lowest part has 3 spacers glued in to keep the pieces parallel.
Use a square to keep the sticks aligned while you glue the spacers in.
Step 5: Cut the Rod to Sizes
Cut the threaded rod to sizes you need.
That is the width of the sticks + the room to put washers and nuts.
Round over the sharp cut with some sandpaper or a file.
Step 6: The Top Piece
This is the piece that holds the lamp.
Watching the video will be the best way to see how I tackled this.
It is not complicated but it took me some thinking on how will I attach the socket to the stick.
It worked great and I'm very pleased with the looks and sturdiness of it.
Step 7: Finish It
I applied linseed oil and dark wax to this lamp for finish and it looks great!
Assemble the lamp structure.
Do the simple electrical of connecting the switch and run the cable through the holes before attaching it to the plug. Screw the bulb in.
You're ready to enjoy it!
