Auto Pet Feeder

This is a tutorial on how to build an auto pet feeder. You can use it for your dog, your cat, your horse, or any animal you want to feed.

I build it because my dog was having trouble to eat, and was getting really skinny so I want her to have food available all the time. I build this and discovered is ant proof and pigeons don't eat the food from there for some reason. So is a win win win situation. I hope you like it. lets begin!

Step 1: Material

This are the materials to make one autopet feeder.

• 1- piece of 4" pvc pipe
• 2- 4" pvc couplings
• 1-pvc reduction
• 1-pvc cap
• 1-piece of triplay
• 1-piece of aluminum or steel tube
• 2-screws

also you well need

• pvc cement
• spray laquer
• drill

Step 2: Assembly and Paint

first you need to join the pcv pipe whit the coupling with the cement. Then you can paint the feeder with lacquer. Make sure you use lacquer because normal spray paint is not going to stick to the pvc. Don't try to paint the feeder in one paint. You can end up with a lot of drops in the paint.

Step 3: The Base

fist make a hole is the triply using a drill or a dremel. I use a dremel to make it. Make it a little smaller than the pipe you have so it fit tight.

Then make tho holes in the aluminum or steel pipe and bend it a little with pressure pliers. Make the same holes in the feeder and unse the two screws to fix it in place.

Step 4: Ready!

That it! you have now your own pet autofeeder, and a really happy dog!

I am a little concerned about the safety of using PVC and the glue in terms of pet toxicity. It is a great idea and I would probably use something like at least a cardboard liner or the liner of your dog food bag that you could use to soak up the VOCs. I would replace liner as frequently as I replaced the dog food.

My cat would love this. My dog would probably try to eat it all at once. I love how simple it is.
