Awesome Lego Figure Shelf

My son has quite a lot of lego figures. I made this shelf for him to play and show the lego figures. It's fun and handy. No more lego figures messing around.

Step 1: What Do You Need for This Project

Lego compatible ground plate

First of all a 3d printed lego compatible ground plate. In this example a 3x20 nops is used. But you can also use 2x20 or even 4x20 nops.Print it with your own 3D printer or choose a hub in your neighbourhood on www.3dhubs.com.

Piece of wood

A piece of wood. I used a 18x27mm piece of wood for this project

Adhesive tape

Double sided adhesive tape to glue the lego compatible plate to the piece of wood

Screws

Finally the screws to mount the lego shelf to the wall.

Step 2: Lego Compatible Groundplate

PRINT!

Print as many ground plates as you need. In this project I made two lego figure shelfs with each five 3x20 nops plates. But you can vary this as you like.

The .STL files for 3D printing of 2x20, 3x20 and 4x20 ground plates are provided with this instruction. With the openscad file you can change the dimensions of the ground plate to whatever you like,

The plates have a flat bottom, so the adhesive tape will stick to it.

Step 3: Cut, Paint and Glue

Cut the piece of wood in the appropriate length.

If you want two screw the shelf to the wall drill the holes before painting.

Paint it in the color you like.

Glue the lego plates to the piece of wood with double sided tape.

Use lego blocks to connect the lego plates to each other before glueing. In this way the plates are automatically in the right position.

Step 4: Ready
