Step 1: Gather, Buy, and Set Up the Tools and Materials Necessary to Complete the Project

Gather, buy, and set up the tools and materials necessary to complete the project

●      [Free] Download makecode software to program the circut playground. Found at this link https://makecode.adafruit.com/about

Do the suggested tutorial when you make your account. This will help you understand that you have to switch the tiny knob called “reset” in order for the code you made and downloaded to transfer properly.

Step 2: Code Your Circuit Playground

●      The coding process can be found at this youtube video below. I coded the Circuit Playground to have the lights on the left side of the lily pad to be lit up as a baseline for code to run hence setting the brightness slot in the code to “20”.

●      When you copy and paste the code from the video, you will need to change the sound level slot to match the number in the picture below to “225”. This will allow the green light to get bright when the beat of the drum sound goes off.

  • NOTE: The code in the video actually doesnt work but if you follow the screenshot pic below that shows the changes I made to the code (remix) you will be able to accomplish what the guy is showing in the video.

●      Switch the tiny knob at the base of the circuit playground to the right so the colors are really bright and can show through the felt.

Step 3: Align Beaded Pendent on Top of Hidden Circuit Playground (with Hypothetical Steps)

●      Wear a white powwow shirt or a shirt with light colors and with light material

●      On your powwow shirt place the battery in a breast pocket

  •      Make sure it is tucked tightly so it doesn't jump out while you dance.

●      Sew the Circuit Playground behind your powwow top or shirt.

●      Align your beaded pendant with Circuit Playground pinning it on you shirt

●      Turn on the battery so the light codes can run while the drum music plays as you dance

Step 4: Align Beaded Pendent on Top of Hidden Circuit Playground (with Actual Steps of Prototype)

●      Cut a white felt paper 9 x ll inches in half and fold remaining piece into hamburger style

●      Make a pocket for the batter by piercing with a needle then with a fuzzy metal stick to close in the battery.

●      Place battery in then find where you want your Circuit Playground to sit

●      With a pen mark different hold on the Circuit Playground when you can sew it to the felt with the fuzzy metal sticks

●      Align your beaded pendant with Circuit Playground pinning it on top of the felt
