Introduction: Bacon Weave
Weaving bacon is easy and a unique way to make the thin strips into a large flat surface for wrapping around other foods or just enjoying by it's self.
Step 1: Building the Weave
Buy the thick slice bacon, about a pound is all you'll need to make 2 bacon weaves with extra bacon left over(roughly 4 slices).
Line the baking sheet with aluminum foil. Lay out the bacon strips side by side horizontal as close together as you can.
Lift up and fold back the ends of every other one on one side of the baking sheet. Place a bacon slice perpendicular(vertical) to the horizontal rows of bacon, directly on top of the bacon strips that you did not fold back. Straighten out the folded bacon to cover the strip that you just placed on the baking sheet.
Lift up and fold back the ends of the horizontal bacon strips that are under the vertical bacon strip to the side of the baking sheet. Place a bacon slice right next to the first vertical bacon strip, directly on top of the bacon strips that you did not fold back. Straighten out the folded bacon to cover the strip that you just placed on the baking sheet. Repeat the process of alternating the vertical and horizontal bacon strips till you reach the other end of the horizontal bacon strips. It should look something like this.
If you are going to wrap some other food items, you are done. Otherwise it’s time to bake your bacon weave.
To bake pre-heat your oven to 375F or 400F and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, depending on how crispy you want your bacon.
