Would this work with cooking apples, or do they need to be eating apples?

Hi Ruthy,
Yes, you can use cooking apples. I actually like to mix the types of apples so as to get differing tastes and textures for the chips. Hope that helps and hope you enjoy!

If you peel the apples before drying them, you won't get the hard sharp points.

Hi Lorddrake! If you cut the apples thin enough, sharp edges are not really an issue plus they add a little extra crisp and crunch. I would also feel bad wasting the skins.
