Introduction: Baked Crispy Sweet Potato Fries

French fries are everybody's favorite snack and sweet potato is an healthier option to normal potatoes. Hence, I prefer the Baked Sweet Potato Fries with homemade Garlic Yogurt Dip. Its so easy to make and is a guilt free snack that we can munch on. Hope you like it. Thank you.

Step 1: Ingredients for Sweet Potato Fries

  1. Sweet Potatos - 4 small size
  2. Garlic Powder - 1 tsp
  3. Chilly Powder / Paprika - 1 tsp
  4. Olive oil - 1 tbsp
  5. Rice Powder - 1 tbsp (for crispiness)
  6. Salt - to taste

Step 2: Bake the Sweet Potato Fries

  1. Wash the sweet potatoes, pat dry with a kitchen towel and cut it into thin wedges
  2. Add all the ingredients one by one - salt, chilly powder/paprika, rice flour for crispiness, garlic powder and olive oil.
  3. Massage all the ingredients well so it coats the sweet potato wedges well. Line up the coated wedges in an oven safe bowl.
  4. Ensure they don't overlap else the fries will become soggy.
  5. Bake it for 25-30mins (15mins on each side) in a preheated oven at 450 degree F. Keep checking in-between so it does not burn.
  6. Let is stand for atleast 5 mins before serving.
  7. You can serve it with tomato sauce / mint chutney / sour cream dip / garlic yogurt dip.
  8. I loved it with the homemade garlic yogurt dip.

Step 3: Make the Garlic Yogurt Dip


  1. Yogurt - 2 tbsp
  2. Salt - to taste
  3. Pepper - to taste
  4. Dried Italian herbs - 1/2 tsp
  5. Garlic Powder / Fresh crushed garlic - 1/2 tsp

Preparation Steps

  1. Take about 2 tbsp thick yogurt.
  2. Add salt, garlic powder, pepper and dried Italian herbs.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Keep it chilled in refrigerator until you wish to serve.
