Introduction: Basket Clock - Clock Project

This clock will be able to stand on it's own and have a basket at the bottom. It's a quite natural design. With tree colours. All other than the basket is in wood. It is inspired by a Japanese gate.

Materials:

3mm plywood

Polypropylene

Wood glue

Varnish

Laser cutter

Epoxy resin

Clamps

Clock mechanism

Step 1: Step 1: Design the Product

Design the different parts of the clock as shown above and don't forget to add indents and make sure you make several of the same thing the layer it. If you want to make changes make sure that if you make changes to the bits that attach to each other that they are corresponding indents.

Step 2: Step 2: Print It

Print all the cad files all but the basket design in 3 mm plywood the last one in Polypropylene.

Step 3: Step 3: Paint

Use varnish in the colour u want to you only need to do the outside layer. To have a finished touch you could also add clear varnish.

Step 4: Step 4: Glue/ Assemble Wood Part

Glue the two legs together but do not glue the back bit yet. Make sure between two layers you clamp it a let it dry a little. Next you add the top one layer at a time to make sure it fits properly. Also glue the side juts one by one so that you can put them in. Next you add the bit under the clock face. Then add the part at the bottom of the face and the stand at the bottom.

Step 5: Step 5: Add Clock Mechanism

Place the clock mechanism in the hole on the face don't forget to add all the parts to keep it in place.

Step 6: Step 6: Assemble the Basket

This is the difficult bit. Take the Polypropylene basket (you can spray paint it if you want a different colour) and use epoxy resin to glue the elastic band to the top of one side of the basket making sure there is some hanging of the edge to attach to the basket. Once dry glue the bottom of the basket to the stand with the same glue. Once dry glue the elastic bands as much as possible to the frame. if you can clamp it do but if not hold it for a few minutes then leave it over night for good measure you want to make sure it's really dry. Then glue the back of the basket with the same glue. Then let dry.

Step 7: Finished

Done. You've finished congrates. If your jus looking over maybe try and make it.
