Introduction: Basket Weave Skull Cap

About: I study Media Art & Animation at the Art Institute of California, but i have a wide array of interests.

With cool weather coming in, it might be a good idea to make a few of these to keep your head warm, as well as anyone you care about. This is a simple Skull Cap that is pretty easy to make and can work up pretty quickly; all in all, it took me about 3.5 hours to make and document.

MATERIALS:

- 1 skein of your favorite color, or a few balls in favorite color scheme
- Size K/10.5-6.50MM Crochet hook
-Yarn Needle

REQUIRED STITCH KNOWLEDGE:

- Singe Crochet [S.C.]
- Double Crochet [D.C.]
      Front Post Double Crochet [FP-DC]
      Back Post Double Crochet [BP-DC]
- Triple/Treble Crochet [T.C.]

SHORTHAND LEGEND:

Ch. = CHAIN
INC^2 = INCREASE (2 stitches in 1)
S.C. = SINGLE CROCHET
FP-DC = FRONT POST - DOUBLE CROCHET
BP-DC = BACK POST - DOUBLE CROCHET
T.C. = TRIPLE/TREBLE CROCHET

(this is the stitch pattern)(this is how many times you repeat it) = [final stitch count at the end of the round]

*This pattern is for the purple, teal(?), and black beanie and is worked in a continuous spiral*
