how did you make it so that when you hit the number/letter key you don't have to press enter?

Use CHOICE. For example,

CHOICE /c ABCD /n /m "The options are A, B, C, or D"

if %errorlevel%==1 (echo A)

if %errorlevel%==2 (echo B)

if %errorlevel%==3 (echo C)

if %errorlevel%==4 (echo D)

my school admin blocked the cmd completely, so I can make more, but it will open and close super fast and say "the command prompt has been blocked by your administrator."
