Beginning Crochet Lessons

Introduction: Beginning Crochet Lessons

The Granny Square Mario blanket Instructable I posted was pretty popular and a lot of people made one for themselves. I also know that a lot of people couldn't quite get the hang of it and gave it up.

I posted a video tutorial of how to make a Granny Square, but for those who have never crocheted, that was a little hard to accomplish.

This set of videos is intended for people who have never picked up a crochet hook.  This may also be helpful for people who just need a refresher.

Enjoy, and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Lesson 1:  How to make a slip knot

Lesson 2:  How to hold the yarn
Lesson 3: How to Chain stitch

Lesson 4: How to Single Crochet

Lesson 5: How to Half Double Crochet

Lesson 6: How to Double Crochet

Lesson 7: How to Treble Crochet

I've tried this granny square many times through written and video means it's just one thing I can't seem to get...I started crocheting through 4h club when I was eight never learned nor heard of a granny square until a year ago when I started crocheting again after not doing it for over 45 years

Thank you so much for the lesson on crocheting. I'm going to be a grandmom for the first time at the end of the year and I want to crochet
my grandchild a blanket. I have watched many videos and for some reason I just couldn't get it. I watched your videos once and got it right away. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge on crocheting.

Very easy and SIMPLE instructions for a true newbee. I learn easier if I can see and hear instructions, so with that said this presenter makes being a newbee in crocheting more enjoyable and less fustrating. Thanks

I agree with Poo0909 the vids were very helpful. i am alway looking for new things to do and something to keep my fingers busy so this is great.

Oh I love you, thank you so much for this wonderful set of videos. It is so easy. I watched your videos and worked along side and came up with the end result before I knew it.
soon, I was staring aghast at crocheted wool in my hands.
Thank you thank you thank you so much.
God bless you.
