Introduction: Berry Sweet Shaker Card

About: I have been scrapbooking and paper crafting for over 20 years. Colors and paper make my heart happy.

Create a berry sweet shaker card using acetate, a cut file overlay, and sequins. Super simple and quick, this card will make anyone smile :)

Step 1: Cut Out File (by Hand or With Die Cutting Machine)

Cut out the SVG overlay Berry Sweet Free Cut File. You can either do this by hand or with a die-cutting machine.

Step 2: Cut and Fold Base Card

This is an A2 card (4.25 x 5.5 inches). Cut a piece of cardstock 8.5 inches x 5.5 inches and score/fold it at the 4.25 inch mark.

Step 3: Back the Word Berry With Pattern Paper

Cut a piece of pattern paper (or use a scrap) that is large enough to cover the word "berry". Add glue to the back of the overlay around the word and then place it on your pattern paper.

Step 4: Cut the Pattern Paper Word Outline

Cut around the word BERRY on the backside of the cut file overlay. This doesn't have to be perfect, just make sure your pattern paper is trimmed away from the outside edge and don't cut into the bubble part of the inside frame.

Step 5: Cut Background Pattern Paper

Choose your background pattern paper. Cut a piece that measures 4.25 inches x 5.5 inches.

Cut a piece of acetate the same size for your shaker card window.

Step 6: Add Foam Tape

Add foam tape to the edge of your card background. If your tape is wider than .25 inches, let it hang off the edge and then trim it with scissors.

Step 7: Add Scor-Tape or Adhesive to Your Overlay

Add scor-tape or adhesive to your overlay. This will go over your acetate layer when you are finished adding the shaker bits and pieces.

Step 8: Sprinkle in Your Sequins, Glitter, Etc.

Add your shaker bits and pieces to your background piece (after adding the foam tape). If you have anti-static dust or a duster brush, use that before the sequins to make sure they don't stick to the foam tape.

Step 9: Cover Your Shaker

Add the acetate layer to your foam tape shaker box.

Then add your cut file overlay (berry sweet).

Step 10: Cut Berry Emebellishements (optional)

If you have berry die cuts or want to make some with your die-cutting machine, you can add them to the front of the overlay. I used the berry basket dies from scrapbook (dot) com.

Step 11: Add Berry Embellishments

Add your berries to the front of your shaker box. These can be die cuts that you made, hand-cut berries, flowers, or pre-made embellishments from a scrapbooking/cardmaking collection.

Step 12: Add Shaker to Card Front

Use scor-tape or your adhesive of choice to the front of your card. Place the shaker box on the card front. All done! You can view the Berry Sweet Shaker Card assembly video on my site.
