Introduction: Best. Butterfinger Bites. Ever.

About: ...after 30 years of becoming corporately numb, my dreams of not working (for pay) and instead creating with my hands has become a reality. Life is grand!

One gets mixed reactions when bringing up candy corn, which range from...

YUMMY - Halloween and Thanksgiving will soon be here!

                                     TO

YUCK - those things are worse than orange circus peanuts!

Regardless of where you fall, here's a simple copycat recipe for Butterfinger Bites that uses Candy Corn as one of four ingredients and pleases everyone that enjoys the combination of chocolate and peanut butter!

Step 1: Whaaaat....Just 4 Ingredients????

That's right and the four* ingredients include:

Candy Corn
Smooth Peanut Butter
Chocolate Chips (I prefer/used semi-sweet)
Vegetable or Canola Oil

*if you replace the chocolate chips and vegetable oil with chocolate candy coating then only THREE ingredients are necessary!

Step 2: How Easy Is It?

Line a baking dish with parchment paper and set aside.

Place 1 part of Creamy Peanut Butter and 2 parts Candy Corn in a microwave safe bowl.

Microwave on high for 60 seconds.

Remove from from microwave and stir until smooth, allowing the heat from the Peanut Butter to help melt the Candy Corn.

Heat for 30 more seconds and place the warm mixture into the prepared pan.  Smooth top and allow to cool.

Step 3: Cut. Dip. Set. Nibble.

Once cooled, remove from prepared dish and cut into 1"x1" squares.

Place 1 cup of chocolate chips and 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a microwave safe container.

Microwave for 30 seconds on high, and stir to remove lumps.  Repeat until chocolate is melted.

Using tongs or two forks, dip the squares in the melted chocolate and allow excess chocolate to drain before placing the bites on parchment paper.  Allow chocolate to harden before removing from parchment paper.

For a crisp texture store in refrigerator, otherwise store at room temperature and nibble away!

Even if you don't get around to making them for a Halloween party, the great thing is...if you wait until after Halloween there is likely to be plenty of the candy corn marked 50% off.
