Introduction: Big to Small Basketball Hoop

I am a middle school student at Grandview Prep, and I made a mini basketball hoop. I made it because if you like basketball or playing games this is perfect for you. You can travel with it and you can play with your friends at school. If it's raining, snowing or the weather is bad this is what you need.

Supplies

The supplies I used were:

  • Hot glue gun: used for attaching the ball launcher
  • Markers: used for decorating the hoop and the ball
  • 3d printer: used to print the hoop.
  • Tinkercad: Website used to design my hoop for the 3d printer.

Step 1: Create a 3d Design for the Hoop

Using Tinkercad or any other 3d printer design program. Make a base for the hoop to stand on, next, add a long cylinder shape to act as the hoop stand. Now work on the backboard add a rectangle shape, add a cylinder ring as the rim. I added a free throw line but that's optional. Create the ball launcher using the rim but sizing it down to the size of the ball. To make the ball use a sphere. Make it small enough to fit in the rim but big enough to sit in the launcher.

Step 2: Print the Design

Use the 3d printer to print your design from Tinkercad.

Step 3: Attach the Ball Launcher

Use the hot glue gun to attach the ball launcher(the ball launcher will probably break) to the platform.

Step 4: Color/decorate the Hoop

Use markers to color the rim and the ball

Step 5: Enjoy

Now you finished the basketball hoop. Congratulations!
