Introduction: Bike Storage Hub
My house was a mess.
So I decided to build a bike storage hub.
The result - a place to store bike and bike accessories that looks right
Step 1: Prepare Materials
(1) 48" by 48" Plywood (1/2")
Cut plywood into two equal ramp shapes as the structures sides.
(2) 48" by 48" Plywood (1/4")
Cut plywood in half and submerge in water for 2-3 hours.
(10) 2" by 4" (Length between 16-32" depending on desired width of ramp)
(100) 2" Wood Screws
Wall Hook
Carpenter Square Ruler
Sawing Clamp(s)
Power Saw
Power Drill
Step 2: Build Ramp
First, Screw 2" by 4" pieces in the bottom, top and front on one ramp side.
Second, Screw in the other ramp side
Third, Screw remaining 2" by 4" at regular 6"-8" intervals
Fourth, starting in the front, drill in the 1/4" plywood piece in the sides of the 2" by 4" pieces.
Fifth, work up to the top of the ramp, pressing the plywood to maintain its curvature
Step 3: Set-up Bike Storage Hub
Insert hook into a stud in the wall and use ramp to lift bike on the hook
Store bike accessories (i.e. helmet, bike pump, bike lock) into the storage space under the ramp

It's not really easy to find a nice versatile bicycle storage system for the house is it? I would think that no matter what kind of rack system we utilise, it will be in the way short of putting it into the garage!

Nice bike storage solution. I wish I had something like this when I was in college.
