Introduction: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
This by far is one of my greatest pieces and the second video game prop i did and it took me some time and labor and it wasn't to pricey it is 7 feet tall and 2 feet wide with a depth of 10 inches and i think i spent about $150 for materials because i owned the tools to build it.
Step 1: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
First i started with a piece of 1/4 inch mdf and started with the basic frame on top of that. framing was made out of 1x4 and 3\4 mdf shelving material
Step 2: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
more framing for shelves and structure
Step 3: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
added base for support when standing and started to make the round edges. i used 4 inch PVC plumbing pipe and cut it into quarters so i could get those round edges and pre drilled and screwed them on.
Step 4:
after adding the PVC i had to make the round corners so i bought modeling clay and formed them by hand doesn't have to be perfect because i was going to be drywall mudding it after.
Step 5: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
put on 1\4 inch mdf for the face and cut out holes where the shelving was going to be
Step 6:
hole cut for shelving and screwed on. always pre-drill with mdf
Step 7: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
i then wanted to add the plasmids to the door to make it look real like they were it the gatherer's garden so i made them out of stained glass
Step 8:
started to drywall mud to smooth it all out and fill the screw holes and flaws
Step 9: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
for the top gatherer's garden sign i used 1\4 mdf again made it a diameter of 2 feet around and printing the logo on there. i used a dremel to cut out the holes you will see why i did this. i wanted light to shine though the holes to make it look like neon sign
Step 10: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
sign dremeled and cut out
Step 11: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
drywall mud dry and then sanded with a couple more coats for smoothing
Step 12: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
unit them primed and ready for painting and building doors
Step 13:
doors made and some added touches like hole for more lights at the bottom on right
Step 14: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
started painting and adding accessories to door
Step 15: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
stained glass put into door and door hung more accessories and the top on just for show right now
Step 16: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
more paint and accessories while i was waiting for my leds for it
Step 17: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
painted sign and added the funnel shaped coin thing and painted the gatherer's garden on the bottom
Step 18: Bioshock Life Size Gatherer's Garden BY FLOPPYTY
got the LED s in and finishing touches and that's my baby lol lots of work and lots of time and its amazing
