This winter you'll do things different.
Instead of buying a new birds feeding table you'll make one, one that's different from all others (although not from mine but there's few chance we're neighbours).

This 'leaf bird table' is easy to make & weather-resistant.

Needs:
- a trunk
- some wastewood or a kitchen board
- some Alubond-style aluminium composite panels

Step 1: Design & Cut

Organize two sheets of ALU-bond & get them together.
Design the leaf (in this occasion oak but I'm pretty sure banana must be nice also) & cut them both at once with a jigsaw.
Sand the edges.
Perforate the upper margin with a small drill.

Step 2: Stitching

Ply both halves as much as needed that, once put together, they will be stitchable.
Use polyester rope to stitch them together. Double nots.
Seal with silicone (tape the sides of the seal zone to get this done properly).

Step 3: Paint Job

Give it any color you want - aerosol paint is just fine.

Step 4: Prepare the Leafstalk

Find a piece of scrapwood, cut it & shape it.
Note the flattened zone where the leaf will be fixed.
Drill two holes straith through that zone.
Oil to finish. Walnut is fine.

Step 5: Make the Dish Table

Find a nice piece of hardwood - or make it - and design a 'table' respecting the size of your leaf (make it too big the snacks will be wet, make it too small it will look ridiculous).
Use jigsaw to cut it out.
Use router to give it 3D.
Sand to finish.

You can also use a kitchen cutting board.

Find a nice way to attach the table to the support - in this case a piece of scrapwood.

Oil with natural oil (walnut, again). No synthetic stuff, birds will eat on it!

Step 6: Assembling

Find a nice trunk and make a tripod to get it upside.

Fix the stem to the leaf.
Fix the leaf to the trunk.
Fix the table to the trunk.
The lantern is optional...
